Eurogate Technical Services picks Ultimo for terminals

EUROGATE Technical Services has chosen Ultimo as its asset management system for container terminal operations in Germany.
The company maintains infrastructure at terminals in Bremerhaven, Hamburg and Wilhelmshaven, and also serves other terminal operators. As technical systems become more complex and pressure grows on availability, reliability and cost control, it wants a more structured, data-led approach to maintenance.
Its existing maintenance model has been focused mainly on execution. The shift to Ultimo is intended to provide broader visibility into asset performance and lifecycle management, while introducing more consistent planning, incident management and documentation.
A key part of the programme is mobile access for about 450 field technicians, giving them information at the point of work and improving the quality of operational data collected during daily maintenance.
Ultimo will sit alongside SAP ERP, which EUROGATE Technical Services will continue to use for financial and administrative processes. This two-system setup is intended to give each platform a distinct role within the wider operation.
Phased rollout
The implementation is being introduced in stages across the terminal network, allowing the company to adjust the programme step by step while embedding new processes internally.
MaxGrip, an Ultimo partner, is supporting the implementation. Its role includes helping with the transition from the current enterprise asset management system, system integration and the adoption of asset management practices.
Stefan Jann, Managing Director of EUROGATE Technical Services, said: "Implementing a modern asset management platform like Ultimo enables a new standard of reliability, transparency and operational excellence."
The project reflects a wider push by terminal operators and industrial groups to use maintenance data more systematically as equipment fleets grow in scale and complexity. In container terminals, where cranes, vehicles and fixed infrastructure must operate with minimal disruption, maintenance systems are increasingly seen as part of day-to-day operational control rather than a back-office function.
For EUROGATE Technical Services, that means placing greater emphasis on how asset data can inform maintenance planning and support decision-making over time. The system is intended to help create a reliability-led operating model across the organisation.
Steven Elsham, Chief Executive Officer of Ultimo, said: "For EUROGATE Technical Services, maintenance is not just a support function. It's a strategic capability that creates measurable value. By strengthening its asset management foundation with Ultimo, EUROGATE Technical Services is building a future-ready technical operation that can support growing volumes, increasing complexity and higher performance expectations. We look forward to supporting them on that journey."
Next steps
The system is intended to support digital asset management more broadly, with later priorities including advanced analytics, AI-supported performance optimisation and predictive maintenance. That suggests EUROGATE Technical Services sees the current implementation as a foundation for a wider operational technology programme rather than a standalone software change.
Jann said: "Ultimo will be a key enabler of digital asset management. Future priorities include advanced analytics and AI-supported performance optimization. We also want to move toward predictive maintenance."
